SCIGC Joins Stanford Research Initiative on Long Term Investing

SCIGC joins a new research initiative at Stanford focusing on long-term investing and financing of global infrastructure

Research Initiative on Long Term Investing

Along with the Stanford Center for Sustainable Development and Global Competitiveness, SCIGC is launching a revolutionary Research Initiative on Long-Term Investing that proposes to adopt emerging sensing, data capture, data storage, artificial intelligence, and machine learning capabilities and couple these with high fidelity, physics-based models of infrastructure performance to support short-term and long-term financial risk assessment of long-term assets.  Stanford catalyzed such approaches over 30 years ago within major insurance and re-insurance firms worldwide, functionally reinventing the catastrophic risk insurance industry into the science-based, data-driven sector that we know today.

SCIGC's activities within the Research Initiative on Long-Term Investing will be lead by Dr. Soh Young In, PhD, SCIGC Senior Researcher and Director of Sustainable Smart City Finance Research.
